7 Simple (But Important) Things To Remember About Overcome Limiting Beliefs and Achieving Success.

There’s a famous quote by Henry Ford, “Whether you think you can, or you think you can't – you're right.”

What he’s referring to here is your self-belief. To achieve success in life, it’s imperative that you have the right beliefs. Not all beliefs will serve you well.

In fact, one can even say that your beliefs will either propel you forward or drag you down and hold you back.

Having limiting beliefs is a problem that affects most of us. No matter how successful you are, you will have limiting beliefs in one area or another.

For example, the yoga instructor may believe that he’ll never be rich because there’s not much money in teaching yoga. However, there may be another yoga instructor who has a chain of yoga studios and is making 7-figures a year.

What differentiates the two of them?

Their beliefs. That’s what.

Below, you’ll find 7 pointers to apply if you wish to eliminate your limiting beliefs and find success in life.

1. It’s possible

The first step is to believe that whatever you want is possible for you. Just tell yourself, “It’s possible”.

If you won’t even give yourself the chance to believe it, how will you ever achieve it? Believe it’s possible.

2. Write it down

The next step will be to write down your goals. Studies have shown that the act of writing down your goals makes you far more likely to achieve them.

Even if you don’t believe you can win at what you want, write down your goals. Just the act alone will start a transformational process within you. You may wish to write your goals down 1-2 times a day so that you sear them into your heart and mind.

3. Self-reflection

All your limiting beliefs have a genesis. Nothing happens without a cause.

It could have been what your parents, teachers or some adult said to you when you were young and impressionable. It could be the type of lifestyle the people in your neighborhood live.

When you see the miserable situation around you, you may not be able to see anything better for yourself. However, your current situation does not determine your future.

You can always get out of the rut of mediocrity and achieve success beyond your wildest dreams – but first, you must believe you can.

Spend time self-reflecting and asking yourself why you think the way you do. As convincing as your excuses may sound (and they’ll be very convincing), just know that you can develop different beliefs.

It’s important to remember that you see situations and people not as they are – but as you are. When you change your beliefs, everything will change for you.

4. Baby steps

In order to win in life, you must act. Even when you don’t believe, you must act. It’ll be a Herculean task… but you must take small, daily steps towards your goal.

Consistency is everything and action will create change.

5. Find small wins

The best way to beat limited thinking will be to find small wins. The overweight person who can’t see himself losing 100 pounds only needs to lose 1 pound of fat to know that it’s possible.

If he can lose one, he can lose a hundred. It’s just a matter of staying on course and being consistent.

Break your big goals down into small, manageable goals. As you achieve these little goals, the small wins will increase your confidence and spur you on. Success is just a matter on course.

6. Less is more

Don’t try to do everything at once. Aim for just one goal at a time. Limiting beliefs often arise when we look at how far we have to go. You might want a big house, a brand new car and a vacation in the Bahamas.

But currently, all you have is $10. You’re thinking, “No way is this possible.”

In this situation, your first goal might be to save up for the vacation since it’s the cheapest. Get a second job, trim your expenses and do whatever it takes to save up for the vacation.

Once you have the money set aside, you’ll have much more confidence. From here on, it’s just a matter of doing whatever it takes to make the money that can afford you the car you want and your dream house.

It won’t be easy… but it’s possible.

7. Reinforce your beliefs

Watch motivational videos, say affirmations, practice gratitude journaling, etc.

Do whatever it takes to form new beliefs and reinforce them. You can’t change your thinking overnight. But with repeated effort over time, you’ll overcome your limiting beliefs and have a new paradigm and personal philosophy.

From here on, it’s just a matter of going through the motions until you achieve success. Apply these tips in both your personal and work life. Then you’ll find balance in life and be truly satisfied.
